Museo Comunitario HICUPA. Histórico, Cultural y Paleontológico
The town constituted a community assembly in 1986, in response to a looting that occurred in one of the caves that are located within the ejidal territory of the town, the decision was made to establish a committee and work began for the creation of the museum. It was provisionally opened to the public in 1990 in a location of one of the schools until March 19, 2005, and on March 20, 2005 the permanent exhibition hall was inaugurated in its own museum building, within the framework of of a national plenary session of state delegates from the National Union of Community Museums and Ecomuseums, A.C. (UNMCE) of the Mexican Republic.
