Museo Comunitario Yukuni´i (Cerro Que Retumba)

The museum displays a valuable archaeological collection of engraved stones and ceramics. The sites range from the preclassic period, from 1,000 years BC, to the classic and postclassic periods, up to the arrival of the Spanish. The following section shows historical objects of Catholic worship and information about the festivities. At the end, the customs of the cultivation of the pitaya are exposed. The themes are illustrated by valuable murals painted by artists from the town.

El museo muestra una valiosa colección arqueológica de piedras grabadas y cerámica. Los sitios abarcan desde el período preclásico, desde 1,000 años antes de Cristo, hasta los períodos clásico y postclásico, llegando hasta la llegada de los españoles. La siguiente sección muestra objetos históricos del culto católico e información sobre las festividades. Al final se expone las costumbres del cultivo de la pitaya. Los temas son ilustrados por valiosos murales pintados por los artistas de la población.
